Housing Needs Surveys

In order to develop an effective housing strategy, it is necessary to identify the future housing needs of an area. The Governments policy on Best Value places a duty on local authorities to deliver quality services local people want at a price they are prepared to pay.

A corporate approach will ensure that spending on housing supports improvements in other areas of peoples lives such as health and personal security which contributes to achieving balanced sustainable communities. By carrying out surveys to current ODPM guidance, public money can be directed where it is required and needed.
